Registration, returns and the construction reverse charge
VAT and the Reverse Charge
VAT registration, quarterly returns and the construction reverse charge, sorted.
Anyone over the threshold, or near it
What's involved
VAT in construction has its own rules. The domestic reverse charge means many invoices between contractors and subcontractors carry no VAT at all, and getting it wrong costs money. We register you when you need to be, do the returns and make sure your invoices say the right thing.
We'll tell you when you're about to cross the registration threshold, and whether the flat rate or standard scheme suits you better.
Quarterly returns are prepared from your bookkeeping and filed under Making Tax Digital with compatible software.
If you work for other VAT-registered contractors, we set your invoices up for the reverse charge so you're not charging VAT you shouldn't, or missing VAT you should.
